Faidra Kotta
I will be joining the MS3 group from September onwards, my home department is Electrical Engineering where I pursue my masters in the track Wireless Communication and Sensing. My hobbies include reading a wide range of books and cycling through the countryside. My research interests include using machine learning to tackle radar clutter suppression and testing RNNs to predict and adapt to shifting sea-clutter patterns.
My thesis (Adaptive Machine-Learning Prediction of Time-Varying Sea Clutter for Robust Radar Detection) investigates whether ML models can more accurately forecast time-varying sea clutter than a classical Kalman filter. It covers data preprocessing, model design and tuning, cross-validation across diverse sea-states.
