Expertise: Radar target detection under correlated non-Gaussian clutter using deep learning

Biography

Mehmet Zeki Ürgüp received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Türkiye. His graduate research addressed radar target detection under correlated non-Gaussian clutter using deep learning methodologies, focusing on improving detection performance in challenging sensing environments.

In parallel with his academic work, he worked as an Algorithm Development Engineer at ASELSAN, where he contributed to the design and verification of radar signal processing algorithms for target detection and tracking.

In January 2026, he joined the Microwave Sensing, Signals & Systems (MS3) group at TU Delft as a PhD student.
