EEX03 Microwave Engineering
The course deals with fundamentals of modern RF and microwave engineering. The main topics are transmission lines, microwave networks, impedance matching, introduction to antennas, RF simulation and design techniques.
Study Goals
You should be able to:
1. Represent microwave networks with matrices (scattering, impedance, admittance, transmission matrices).
2. Formulate electromagnetic waves on transmission lines
3. Solve impedance matching problems and present the solution.
4. Analyze basic passive networks (couplers, phase shifters, power dividers, ...)
5. Solve a problem using RF simulation tools
